Design an eye-catching CD layout for a modern jazz trio using supplied art, images, and text.

The Challenge

Flowtilla had strong art, photos, and text, but needed a professional designer to synthesize everything into a cohesive package. The design needed to:

  • Create a polished, professional look that matched the band’s artistic identity
  • Translate well to files for manufacturing with a major CD/DVD production company
  • Display well on digital platforms like Apple Music
The Solution

Phil Hodges Productions transformed the supplied materials into a clean, striking CD package that reflected the band’s modern jazz style. The design included:

  • Professional layout and typesetting for liner notes and credits
  • Edited and optimized images for consistency and print quality
  • Final production files formatted for both CD manufacturing and Apple Music display
The Outcome
  • Waves and Particles released February 2011 with a more sophisticated design than Flowtilla’s first two albums (Out of the Inside – 2003, Clariphonic – 2006).
  • The group was so pleased that they partnered with Phil Hodges Productions again for two more releases: Recalibration – 2013, and Just Passing Through – 2017.
  • All of Flowtilla's albums are available for streaming and download on Apple Music
