Design a logo and branded assets for digital business presence and marketing collateral

The Challenge

I decided to start a digital design and media production business. Because I am a multi-talented digital media professional, I needed branding that reflects my versatility in web and app design, graphic design, and audio production. The branding designs needed to include:

  • A simple and clean but bold look and aesthetic to reflect a modern artistic identity
  • A logo design with both text and a meaningful graphic, where the graphic could be used as a stand-alone icon
  • A meaningful tag line summarizing my creative offerings, to be used optionally with the logo
  • Simple branding colors focussed on black, white, and shades of gray with a pop of burnt orange
  • Common fonts that pop both as headline and body text
  • Translation of branding designs across digital RGB color and printed CMYK color files
The Solution

Following an iterative design process, I arrived at a working brand design that included:

  • Iterating through various logo fonts to arrive at a bold all-caps text layout
  • Brainstorming a personally meaningful logo graphic of a volume knob turned up to 11, reference to both my audio production abilities and my creative intensity
  • Adding an optional tag line to the logo design that gives viewers insight into my business
  • Codifying color ideas as a palate with specs for RGB web, CMYK print, Pantone solid color print, and black and white color applications
  • Expanding on the design to include a list of general and more detailed services offered
  • Applying the designs to my website and social media, business cards, promotional T-shirts, and stickers
  • Adding a Linktree QR code graphic to cards, shirts, and stickers to allow potential customers quick phone access to my website and social media
The Outcome

Feedback on my logo designs and branded assets has been strongly positive, and I have moved forward with my branding across:

  • My website, Facebook business page, and LinkedIn company page
  • Business cards
  • Limited T-shirts and stickers currently in production

With the completion of my business design project I have a brand that expresses my creative aesthetic. I am already leveraging my brand in my mission to bring excellent digital medial design to businesses and creative professionals at all levels.
