TRANSCENTRA - Doc Portal

B2B SaaS responsive web design

< Back To UI/UX Projects
Project
Design a customer-facing portal for TransCentra’s Electronic Document Presentment (EDP) system to give their client businesses' end users easy access to billing data and reports.
Client
TransCentra – a provider of billing and payment solutions for B2B SaaS clients, typically billing agencies ranging from bank to utilities.
Contributions
  • Requirements gathering and stakeholder workshops
  • UX/UI design for customer-facing portal and admin interface
  • Information architecture for document and data presentation
  • Wireframes, prototypes, and iterative testing with users
The Challenge

TransCentra’s B2B SaaS end-users needed a secure online portal to:

  • Access billing statements and financial reports from multiple business units
  • Search, sort, and download complex billing data quickly and accurately
  • Replace a legacy paper-based workflow with a modern, cloud-based interface
  • Ensure usability across desktop and mobile with a responsive design
  • Design a disposable "skin" as the SaaS product interface would be designed and branded by Transcentra's B2B customers

At the same time, TransCentra required an admin-facing gateway to manage data, configure accounts, and support business clients at scale.

The Solution

As lead designer at EC Wise, I created a responsive, user-friendly portal that:

  • Provided an intuitive dashboard with search, filtering, and export tools for billing data
  • Used a clear, tabbed navigation system to separate document types and reporting features
  • Delivered a companion admin interface for managing permissions, reports, and customer support tasks
  • Balanced usability for enterprise clients with robust backend controls for TransCentra staff
The Outcome
  • Successfully launched the EDP Customer Portal, expanding TransCentra’s revenue stream and B2B value proposition
  • Significantly improved client usability by reducing time to find, analyze, and download billing information
  • Strengthened customer confidence in TransCentra’s platform through modern, responsive design
  • Demonstrated the impact of UX-driven digital transformation in modernizing legacy financial workflows
The Electronic Document Presentment portal consisted of two modules: An end-user customer facing document portal linked to the main biller-entity (Transcentra client) site, and an admin-facing module that Transcentra’s client biller-entities would use to configure and customize the customer-facing document portal. While I have only described the Customer portal, I also designed the Admin portal which allowed admin users to set up, brand, and configure the Customer Portal.
